Three young researchers from ICB Cluj (Dr. Drugă Bogdan, Dr. Briddon Charlotte, Drd. Nicoara Maria) will participate in July 2021 in a specialized training internship at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany;

In March, within the framework of the Norwegian-funded ADVANCE project, ICB Cluj will organize an online workshop focused on increasing communication skills between researchers, on the one hand, and the media, the general public, stakeholders, etc. on the other hand;

In January 2021, Dr. Cristian Coman will defend his habilitation thesis at the Doctoral School of Integrative Biology of UBB, with the title: ”Microorganisms and Habitats: Biodiversity and Bioresource (Microorganisme și habitate: biodiversitate și bioresursă)“

Starting on April 7, 2020, our colleague Dr. Bogdan Drugă is involved, as a volunteer, in diagnosing COVID-19 using the Real-Time PCR technique. His activity is carried out at the “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuţă” Oncology Institute in Cluj-Napoca and will continue for as long as necessary during the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Our colleague, Dr. Edina Szekeres, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Cristina Mircea, have voluntarily accepted to get involved, on behalf of the UBB team, as specialized personnel in the molecular diagnosis of COVID-19, in the effort made by UBB Cluj-Napoca to support the diagnostic teams of the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection.
