The Environmental Microbiology Laboratory is designed to support a wide range of experiments, including the study of microorganisms in the environment. The laboratory focuses on fundamental and applied research in the “One Health” field, aimed at monitoring public and environmental health, as well as investigating bacterial cultures, molecular biology analyses, and biotechnologies. The techniques employed and the existing infrastructure facilitate the analysis of a variety of samples collected from the environment, with a current emphasis on water and sediment samples from lotic ecosystems, wastewater, and treated water.
