Our research focuses on the interactions between different aquatic organisms, including planktonic prokaryotes and eukaryotes. We study food webs in vitro and in silico. We try to predict the trophic functioning of aquatic communities in vitro (mesocosm experiments) through food web models that are made in silico.
As we try to understand how these aquatic communities function, we want to identify which types of models are most useful for predicting ecosystem dynamics.
This is a complex process and never perfect, which is why methodologies are constantly being improved through experimental testing.
