The monograph “Nematode fauna of the Romanian Carpathians”, authors: Marcel Ciobanu & Iuliana Popovici published by the Presa Universitară Clujeană publishing house in 2021, won the Emil Racoviță Prize of the Romanian Academy. The work, developed in two volumes, synthesizes the results of research conducted over 26 years (1974 – 2000) in the Romanian Carpathians, with the aim of evaluating the diversity of mountain biocenoses and understanding the role that phytocenoses and zoocenoses have in the functioning of Carpathian ecosystems.
