Biodiversity and conservation, Carpathian ecosystems, natural protected areas, assessment of conservation status of Natura 2000 habitats and species, inventories, monitoring and database management.
    • Evaluation of biodiversity and productivity of cvasinatural ecosystems in Romania for the purpose of their sustainable valorisation;
     
    • Performing analyses in order to negotiate Sites of Community Importance (SCI) with the European Commission, participation in biogeographic seminars and carrying out necessary research to complete the list of SCI and the corresponding database based on the European Commission requirements;
     
    • Completing biodiversity level of knowledge by implementing the monitoring system of conservation status of species and habitats of community interest in Romania and reporting under Article 17 of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC;
     
    • Completing biodiversity level of knowledge by implementing the monitoring system of conservation status of bird species of community interest in Romania and reporting under Article 12 of the Birds Directive 2009/147/EC;
     
    • Multiple projects on the inventory of habitats and plant species of community interest for the management plans of the Natura 2000 sites ROSCI0028 Cheile Cernei, ROSCI0054 Dealul Cetății Deva, ROSCI0136 Bejan Forest, ROSCI0314 Lozna, ROSCI0435 Someșul between Rona and Țicău, as well as for the National Parks Domogled-Valea Cernei, Cheile Nerei-Beușnița and Buila-Vânturarița.
